Best known for its botanical gardens, nature reserve, and museums, Jurong East is also home to a myriad of exciting flavors and different cuisines, making the west side of Singapore a vibrant food scene for locals and tourists alike.

With options virtually endless, we have sifted through the list to come up with the best ones that are worth the visit.

  1. Miam Miam French-Japanese Cafe Kitchen

Inspired by the grace and old-school charm of Japanese kissaten culture, Miam Miam prides itself for bringing the best of both worlds- the fresh flavors and ingredients of Japanese cuisine, prepared using artisanal French cooking techniques.

To open up the palate, we suggest you begin the meal with the Truffle oil Onsen Egg Mushroom Soup ($7.50), followed by the Tender Striploin Donburi with Foie Gras ($29.90), finished with the bright Fraises au Jardin ($8.80).

Reserve a table from 11:30 AM – 9:00 PM daily, 3 Gateway Drive, #1 21-22 Westgate.

The Carving Board

  1. The Carving Board

If you’re looking for a fancy western dinner, but you’re not ready to splurge on a hefty price tag, The Carving Board at 252 Jurong East, Street 24 offers a quality menu that won’t break the bank. With its casual dining concept and relaxed interior, this would make a comfortable dinner date with the family or catch-up time with friends.

To begin the meal, we recommend the creamy and fragrant Mushroom Soup ($6). The Norwegian Salmon Steak ($18) with the cauliflower puree and the juicy Pork Steak ($16) with mashed potatoes won our hearts for the mains. Their pasta and steaks are also worth the try without worrying about the price.

They welcome guests from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM daily.

  1. Lee’s Confectionery

As the saying goes, “the genius is in the simple things”. And this minimalistic cafe at 343 Jurong East Street 341, 1-#59 created a simplistic environment that lets guests focus on their beautiful dessert creations.

Spear-headed by an award-winning, French-educated pastry chef, you can expect nothing short of amazing, memorable desserts.

The sweet-tooth in you will rejoice at the decadent Madu ($8.80 for a individual serving and $35 for a whole cake). A hexagonal cake of honeycomb and salted caramel. We also gushed over Dale ($8.80). An elegant matcha sponge cake with matcha-yuzu cream gracefully sitting on a butter cookie. The Chestnut Ice Cream ($12.50) should’t be missed.

Indulge in these sweetness from Sunday to Thursday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Friday – Saturday, 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
